Thirty Days in Psalm 91 for Busy Mamas, Day 11: Psalms Are for Singing

30DaysPs91Day11SongsWhile we’re busy marking words, making lists, and looking for parallelism and imagery, we don’t want to forget that Psalm 91 was written to be sung, not just read and studied. As we sing the Psalms, we are singing God’s words back to Him. We’re praying, building each other up, expressing our joys and our sorrows, and reminding ourselves of God’s faithfulness.

Here are a few musical versions of Psalm 91 to listen to. Some are sung verbatim from Scripture. Others are based on Psalm 91.

Find your favorite and play it until you start to memorize it.

For your children:

Listen to the above songs with your children. Let them pick a favorite to listen to throughout the day. Then see how much of it they know at the end of the day.

Continue to also work on memorizing Psalm 91 together. Recite the verses you all know, with you saying a word, your children saying the next, back and forth through all the verses you’ve learned.
