This book is written for my own personal benefit (and indirectly for the benefit of my husband), because I need to be constantly called back to the standard to which God calls me as a wife.

There must be a few other wives out there who don’t have their roles mastered! This book is for you, for your daughters as they anticipate marriage, for a friend who is struggling in her marriage, and for young brides as they seek to fulfill their new roles as wives.

As Unto the Lord includes:

  • A short set of questions and relevant Scripture passages for daily review. These are designed to help wives prayerfully examine their attitudes and actions in the light of God’s Word.
  • An in-depth, expanded series of almost 200 questions, each followed by Scripture which explains what God commands of us as wives. These are patterned after The Westminster Larger Catechism’s teaching on the Fifth Commandment and are ideal for personal study when you know you’re straying from God’s design for wives; for study with daughters as they learn to submit to parents and prepare to submit to their future husbands; as a group study with other wives; as counseling material or a helpful gift for a discouraged or rebellious wife.
  • Suggested Bible study projects and helpful forms to aid a woman in a serious study of God’s calling for her life.

Scripture quotations are from the KJV translation. Spiral-bound for easy use.

Use this book to help you:

  • Identify areas of sin and negligence
  • Memorize Scripture as a defense against the temptations unique to wives
  • Pray for God’s guidance and changing power in your life

  Very Helpful
Rhonda of South Carolina, 9/16/2014
I've used this book for years in my own life, and now I'm giving it to my daughters-in-law. I love that Pam lets Scripture speak for itself. She has done the work of compiling the passages in one place and lets the Holy Spirit do the work of teaching.

  Totally Transformed Wife

This material has helped me grow and totally transformed me as a wife and I thank God for His wisdom and providing this resource to me. I will use this book everyday for the rest of my life. I have already started the book over and my plan is to repeat it forever. You cannot read it too much and we as wives need to be reminded each day of our calling. I am now purchasing another copy for a friend. Thank you for your sacrifice Pam to help others and I am thankful for the wisdom God has given you and your husband. I pray that He will bless your family. To Him be the Glory!

  The BEST
Genevieve of Australia, 6/6/2012
This is the BEST marriage book I have ever come across. I have a huge library and love to lend my books out, but I never lend this one as I HAVE to have it by me all the time. So now I'm going to buy five extra copies so that I can give some away and have one on hand to loan out!

I first read it before I was married as I was seeking to learn how to honour my parents. This book was excellent as a daily devotional (and daily kick in the pants). I would read the statements, "The honour due to your husband is..." and change it in my mind to "The honour due to your parents is..." Most of the statements worked when changed like this and the book really helped me to see HOW I could honour my parents and how I needed to change my behaviour.

Now that I am married I use the book as a reference which I refer to regularly. Do I need an attitude adjustment? Out comes the book. Am I struggling to 'take captive every thought to the obedience of Christ'? Out comes the book. Do I need help with contentment? Trusting the Lord? Out comes the book? Why does it work? Because it is simply questions designed to help one analyse one's heart and Scriptures to convict one and help one with the right priorities.

I can't recommend it highly enough.

Glorifying God Through My Works Unto My Husband
Ne Kisha Rowe of Maine, 8/17/2007
I am so grateful to the Forster's for compiling such a heart-searching tool. Their book more than aids a wife in her journey to glorify God through wifely submission, respect, and honor to their husbands. I have searched my heart and seen the error of my ways, more clearly now through this scripture-rich book than I would have my own. I highly recommend this book to any woman seeking to grow closer to Christ within their marriage.

Such a practical, biblical resource. I'm a pastor's wife, and I used this as supplement to our ladies' Bible study last spring. The list of questions to ask yourself about how you relate to your husband (both inwardly and outwardly) can be very heart-probing and convicting in a way that humbles you before our holy God and moves you to greater, more joyful obedience to His Word. Again, thank you, Pam!
