I&#8217;m sure many of you already have plans for other studies, but if you would like to continue studying child-training issues on your own, here are a few suggestions:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<address>Pick another <strong>area of sin<\/strong> that your family is struggling with and use\u00a0<em>Blue Letter Bible\u00a0<\/em>to study it in the same way we have studied the tongue, complaining, strife, etc. Use the &#8220;Encyclopedias \/ Dictionaries&#8221; tool, commentaries, the interlinear for word studies, and other translations to help you.\u00a0<em>(App users, use the &#8220;Nave&#8217;s Topical Bible&#8221; app.)<\/em><\/address>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Continue your study of <strong>the tongue<\/strong> by reading the rest of the verses listed under &#8220;Speaking&#8221; in the &#8220;Encyclopedias \/ Dictionaries&#8221; section of <em>Blue Letter Bible.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Study the Israelites and their grumbling.<\/strong> What did they complain about? What did they need to remember? How did God treat them when they complained?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Use the\u00a0&#8220;Encyclopedias \/ Dictionaries&#8221; tool on\u00a0<em>Blue Letter Bible\u00a0<\/em>to study the <strong>duties of parents<\/strong> as they are outlined under\u00a0<em>Torrey&#8217;s New Topical Textbook.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Read the book of Proverbs and categorize the verses<\/strong> under different topics such as\u00a0<strong>sloth<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>gossip<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>anger<\/strong>, etc. When you are finished, you will have your own topical Bible to turn to when disciplining your children.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Study the fatherhood of God.<\/strong> Open the\u00a0&#8220;Encyclopedias \/ Dictionaries&#8221; tool and search on\u00a0<strong>God<\/strong>. Click on\u00a0<strong>God\u00a0[E,N,T,V,B]<\/strong>. Scroll down to the\u00a0<em>Nave&#8217;s Topical Bible <\/em>listing, and then quite a bit further down to\u00a0<strong>God: Fatherhood of<\/strong>. Read these verses to learn more about God as our Father, and to help you imitate His fatherhood in your parenting.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Read the Gospels, <strong>noting every time Jesus interacts with His disciples<\/strong>. How does He teach and train them? How does He handle potentially frustrating situations with them? What can you learn from His example as you disciple your children?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>If you still would like more guidance as you study:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Complete another <\/strong><em><strong>Busy Mamas Bible Study.<\/strong>\u00a0<\/em>Look in the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.doorposts.com\/blog\/\" target=\"_blank\">blog<\/a> archives (in the right-hand sidebar) for studies on Colossians 3, Psalm 37, 1 Corinthians 13, Proverbs 31, Philippians 2, 1 John 3, Psalm 103, \u00a0Isaiah 53, and Romans 8, or <a href=\"http:\/\/www.doorposts.com\/category.aspx?id=2\" target=\"_blank\">purchase<\/a> a print or eBook version of the first four listed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Do the studies in\u00a0<\/strong><em><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.doorposts.com\/details.aspx?id=130\" target=\"_blank\">Beauty in the Heart<\/a><\/strong>,\u00a0<\/em>to learn additional study methods while studying\u00a0godly beauty.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Use\u00a0<strong><em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.doorposts.com\/details.aspx?id=15\" target=\"_blank\">For Instruction in Righteousness<\/a>\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>to help you locate and read verses on common areas of sin that families face.
