{"id":7193,"date":"2013-10-22T01:00:45","date_gmt":"2013-10-22T08:00:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.doorposts.com\/blog\/?p=7193"},"modified":"2013-10-21T22:29:22","modified_gmt":"2013-10-22T05:29:22","slug":"he-delights-in-us-now","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.doorposts.com\/blog\/2013\/10\/22\/he-delights-in-us-now\/","title":{"rendered":"He Delights in Us &#8212; Now"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-1204\" alt=\"resolving-childrens-disagreements\" src=\"http:\/\/www.doorposts.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/resolving-childrens-disagreements.jpg\" width=\"240\" height=\"203\" \/>Motherh<\/strong><strong>ood&#8217;s a challenge.<\/strong> How many mothers can say when they finally fall into bed, that they&#8217;ve made it through the day without sinning?<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Our patience wears thin with those who keep needing us.<\/li>\n<li>We snap at someone who has asked the same question too many times .<\/li>\n<li>We feel sorry for ourselves when no one seems to notice what we do, or when they undo what we did.<\/li>\n<li>We look the other way instead of dealing with the same discipline issue <em>again<\/em>.<\/li>\n<li>We worry.<\/li>\n<li>We get angry.<\/li>\n<li>We complain.<\/li>\n<li>We don&#8217;t do or say or think the right thing at the right time, or when we do manage to, we sin by being impressed with ourselves.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We have moments when we&#8217;re pretty sure our kids are going to be scarred for life by our inadequate, messed up, imperfect parenting.<\/p>\n<p>And worse than that, we may start thinking God couldn&#8217;t possibly love someone who is as flawed and sinful as we are.<\/p>\n<p>But He\u00a0<em>does\u00a0<\/em>love us. He looks at us &#8212; those of us who have put our faith in Jesus &#8212; and He <em>delights<\/em> in us. He delights in us because He delights in His Son who lived the perfect life that we can&#8217;t live.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\" wp-image-1203 alignleft\" alt=\"loving-parent\" src=\"http:\/\/www.doorposts.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/loving-parent.jpg\" width=\"192\" height=\"224\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>He loves us right where we are.<\/strong> We&#8217;re <em>His<\/em>.\u00a0Nothing we can do will make Him love us any more than He already does.\u00a0We don&#8217;t have to\u00a0<em>earn\u00a0<\/em>His love. It&#8217;s a gift.<\/p>\n<p><strong>So we can rest.<\/strong> We can lean into Him and rest, knowing that He&#8217;s not going to leave us.
