It’s OK to Feel Inadequate. In fact, it’s good.

Every parent should memorize this verse:

” ‘ My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’  Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.” (2 Corinthians 12:9, ESV)

Go into this day, with all its challenges and interruptions and unknowns, remembering that your weakness is the perfect frame to display Christ’s power.

God knows we are weak, and He doesn’t mind! He uses our weakness, as we choose to trust in Him instead of ourselves, to show how strong and wise He is. That way He gets the glory.

And that’s the way it’s supposed to be.

  1. Thanks!!!! I needed to hear this! 😀

  2. As always, perfect timing in what I need to be encouraged.
    Bless you!

  3. Thank you for your timely and wise reminder! As a “second” time around mom, raising my 3 year old twins in my “oldish” years can seem more like a challenge than a blessing. I want them to see a mommy that has it all together and doesn’t loose her cool. I often fail! But just as you have reminded me, my weakness is right where God is at. When I get upset and have to apologize, I am showing them God and His strength working in me. Thanks again and God bless!

  4. Pam,
What a wonderful, short, powerful post! “your weakness is the perfect frame to display Christ’s power” – that wording along with the picture really impacted me. Maybe I’ll keep my eyes out for an old, dilapidated frame to represent my weakness – feeling as if I’m falling apart, but God remains the same: Faithful forever.

  5. Thank you. Just the reminder I needed.

  6. Thank you for your timely post. I needed to hear that! I will rest with the assurance that He is working through my weak frame.
