It’s Worth It!

One day they’re little guys that you can’t turn your back on . . .

. . . The next day you turn around, and they’re married and starting families of their own.

It goes way too fast. Give motherhood your all. Be faithful to the task your Father has given you. Lean on Him for strength and wisdom. Thank Him for every day He gives you with your children – even on the tough days. The children that are hardest to raise are the ones who will have the most to thank you for someday.

Some of my most treasured trophies of motherhood are notes our sons have left me on their wedding days – notes that made every spanking, every exasperated moment, every bandage, and every late night correcting school work worth it. “Her children arise up and call her blessed.” (Proverbs 31:28)

And our even greater rewards will come when we stand before our Lord and hear Him say, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant . . . enter thou into the joy of thy Lord.”

  1. Congratulations! And what a good reminder that we ought to enjoy every day with our children to the fullest.

  2. Thank you for posting this! Us young mothers need to hear words like “Give mothering your all” and “it goes way to fast” often. I know it in my heart and want to treasure every moment of it. 🙂 I needed to be reminded of this today.
    Many Blessings,

  3. I needed to hear that. We are going on the 2nd week of difficult days and sometimes I want to run away. But this reminds me that this too will pass and soon they will be gone. It is hard to believe that my oldest is already 7 and hunting with his dad.

  4. Yes, it is so worth it. Congratulations. You must be so very proud. He looks so happy. God bless you.

  5. Now you make me cry!

  6. OK, this is the third time I’ve looked at this, and AGAIN the transition from the toddler to the triumphant groom makes me tear up!

  7. Wow, talk about a tear jerker!! What a great post. Thank you for reminding me to thank Him for this time with my children, I needed it today. Kim

  8. Such wonderful encouragement for those of us still in the throes of the tough days. Our children are such an incredible blessing from the Lord!
