One day they’re little guys that you can’t turn your back on . . .
. . . The next day you turn around, and they’re married and starting families of their own.
It goes way too fast. Give motherhood your all. Be faithful to the task your Father has given you. Lean on Him for strength and wisdom. Thank Him for every day He gives you with your children – even on the tough days. The children that are hardest to raise are the ones who will have the most to thank you for someday.
Some of my most treasured trophies of motherhood are notes our sons have left me on their wedding days – notes that made every spanking, every exasperated moment, every bandage, and every late night correcting school work worth it. “Her children arise up and call her blessed.” (Proverbs 31:28)
And our even greater rewards will come when we stand before our Lord and hear Him say, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant . . . enter thou into the joy of thy Lord.”
